i-TEC-in-Africa

i–TEC works in many African Countries and has a unique team of Associates in Uganda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana, etc. who are specialists in Monitoring & Evaluation, Performance monitoring, Data Analysis of large data sets , Capacity Building,Public expenditure tracking,Special Studies such Baselines, Data Quality/Verification Assessments and Organizational Capacity Assessments among other things.

 

Ethiopia

i–TEC staff was part of the team of consultants that were mandated by COMESA Secretariat to assess the legal and policy frameworks in the Horn of Africa countries (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti & Sudan) for the purpose of determining gaps in order to come up with recommendations to help address the issue of war economies.
i-TEC has one of its Directors Yohannes Fikre TekleYohannes and Associates, Mr. Tadesse H. Mariam Mengistu based in Addis Ababa.

Kenya

i-TEC staff conducted the end of project evaluation of the Northern Kenya Conflict Resolution Initiative Project in the pastoralist community by Intermediate Technology Development Group Eastern Africa (ITDG EA), funded by the World Bank, EU & USAID.
i-TEC has two of its Associates, Mr. Luke Mitai Obala and Mrs. Jacktone Omullo Akelo based in Nairobi. 

Malawi

i–TEC staff provided technical assistance (TA) in M&E to the entire Government of Malawi. Specifically, this assignment entailed advising the Ministry of Economic Planning & Development, in its role of coordinating the effective implementation of the National Strategy and tracking of progress towards the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Aid Effectiveness. In addition, provided technical assistance to all government institutions both at national and sub-national levels in setting up functional monitoring and evaluation systems across all sectors and enhanced local capacity for monitoring and evaluation through provision of various trainings.
i-TEC has two of its Associates, Mr. Murphy Kajumi and Mr. Themba Chirwa based in Malawi. 

South Africa

i-TEC has one of its Associates, Mrs. Rhoda Eliasi based in Pretoria.





Sudan

Uganda

i-TEC provides Capacity Building to Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) staff in Monitoring and Evaluation. In Collaboration with MUST, i-TEC will provide training in Performance Monitoring and Evaluation to the broader public. The latter will include students from MUST and all other Universities in Uganda as well as individuals from National and Local Governments, Civil Society and the Private sector, interested in developing their M&E Skills.
i-TEC staff was part of the team of consultants that was mandated by NCBA-CLUSA to conduct a final Evaluation of the conservation Farming project in Northern Uganda.
i-TEC provides consultancy services to Projects funded by several Development Partners working in the Country such as USAID, DFID, World Bank among others.
I-TEC staff has worked with USAID-Uganda on numerous projects such as:

  • The health communications partnership project(HCPII) in April 2013 to conduct final evaluations as well as Data Quality Assessments.
  • Feed the Future Value Chain(FTFVC) Uganda in November 2014-2015 Where I-TEC staff was responsible to design a MEL project for FTFVC.
  • Restoring Livelihoods and Enterprises for Agricultural development(LEAD) Uganda January-May 2011 ,I-TEC staff conducted a midterm Evaluation for the project.

West Africa(Ghana and Nigeria)

 

i-TEC staff participated in the Yam Improvement of Income and Food Security in West Africa(YIIFSWA) Nigeria and Ghana June 2014 .The project was funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation .The main activities carried out by the i-TEC staff were conducting Internal mid-term reviews,Providing support to external mid-term reviews as well as conducting training in M&E.

i-TEC staff is part of the team working on the Community Action in Improving farmer saved Seed Yam(CAYSEED) project  in West Africa. November 2014-october 2017. The project is funded by CSIR-Crop Research Institute.i-TEC staff has provided assistance in Reviewing design of impact evaluation,Reviewing design of baseline survey ,Designing of the MEL plan as well as conducting internal midterm review.

 

Zimbabwe

i-TEC staff has worked with USAID zimbabwe on the  Restoring Livelihoods and Strengthening Value Chains (REVALUE) in October 2009-may 2011 .The i-TEAM helped conduct a baseline study for this project ,design M$E system as well as conduct an end line survey.

Tanzania

i-TEC staff provided assistance in design of M&E system  Of the Community action in Cassava Brown Streak control through clean seed  Project (IITA-Tanzania) in september 2014. i-TEC  also participated in conducting of Internal midterm evaluations and Performance reviews.The Project was funded by Bill and Melinda  Gates Foundation.
